Time-line Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 21, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Time-line Inc. collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect:
- Account data: artist or organization name, email, password. Artists can upload a profile picture or choose to import it from Spotify. Organizations can upload a logo.
- Collaborator profile data: when users are invited to collaborate on an account, we collect their name, email, password, and optional profile picture.
- Usage data: interaction logs, feature usage, device/browser type
- Uploaded playlist audio and related metadata (via Upload App). We store a low-resolution version of the audio, used only for streaming within Time-line to authorized collaborators — not for download or distribution.
- Files uploaded to the Platforms, including photos, lighting, video, or FX presets. We may also generate low-resolution previews (e.g. thumbnails or short video clips) to support collaboration and planning.
- Content generated in the Platforms: timestamps, notes, cue points, triggers, etc.
- Any other information that you provide to us.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Present, operate, and improve the Platforms
- Provide you with information
- Provide customer support
- Enable collaborative features
- Analyze performance and usage patterns
- Develop and improve automation features (see below)
- Notify and contact you with respect to the Platforms and changes thereto
- Conduct the actions that we may describe when you provide information to us
3. Automation Features
We may use your content, in aggregated or anonymized form, to develop and improve assistive features that help automate workflows, such as detecting key moments in music for timing of lighting, visuals, or FX, or matching uploaded visuals, lighting, or other presets to those key moments. We do not use your data in a way that would identify you personally and we will not use your content to generate new audio, music, or visuals.
We may share your content with approved service providers or consultants (e.g., machine learning experts) who assist in building these automation features under confidentiality agreements. We may license or commercialize these automation features or ML models trained on anonymized data, without exposing your personal information or specific content.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Our payment processor, once paid subscriptions become available (e.g. Stripe)
- Service providers (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, etc), consultants, contractors, and employees
- Other third parties under NDA (e.g. ML experts)
- Our subsidiaries and affiliates
- Government or regulatory bodies to comply with any court order, law, or legal process
- Anyone who we believe that disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Time-line, or customers, or others
5. Data Retention, Rights and Controls
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to operate the Platforms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and support business operations. This may include retaining certain data even after your account is closed to the extent permitted by law.
You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at hello@time-line.io. We will respond in accordance with applicable laws. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data unless we are legally permitted or required to retain it. Content already used to train machine learning models may continue to inform those models, but we will exclude your data from future training upon request.
6. Data Storage and Security
We implement safeguards to protect your data, including encryption and access controls. However, no system is completely secure.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyze traffic, and deliver personalized content.
